Mumbai University Increases Fees for Self-Financing Courses
Imagine college fees in Mumbai haven't changed in a long time.
Now, the university is raising them!
Starting in a couple of years, it'll go up a little bit each year for certain courses.
If you're an international student, your fees will be much higher.
Some college heads say this is because costs have gone up, and the old fees aren't enough to cover things like paying teachers.
They also note that the fee increase is quite small considering the rising expenses, which makes it difficult to operate effectively.
Mumbai University announced a fee increase after 17 years.
The fee hike applies to self-financing courses from 2026-27.
Fees for foreign students will be five times the total fee.
Principals state the hike is nominal compared to increased expenses.
Some MSc courses have fees set at Rs 40,000.
