Controversy Over Wedding Event at Gandhi’s Kocharab Ashram
There was a big argument about a wedding event at a special place called Kocharab Ashram in Ahmedabad.
Some leaders from the Congress party didn't like that the event was held there.
They said it wasn't right to use the Ashram for such things.
But the people who manage the Ashram, called Gujarat Vidyapith, said it's okay because it's a tradition to let employees have events there.
They said it's not for making money but for the employees and their families.
Mahatma Gandhi, who started the Ashram, believed that when someone who lives or works at the Ashram has an event, it's a celebration for everyone.
So, they think it's fine to have the wedding event there.
A 'sangeet night' wedding event was held at Kocharab Ashram in Ahmedabad.
Congress leaders objected to the use of the Ashram premises for the function.
Gujarat Vidyapith authorities defended the event as a tradition for employee events.
The event was organized for the son of a Vidyapith employee, not for commercial purposes.
Gandhiji believed that occasions of ashram residents or employees are celebrations for everyone.
