Saudi Energy Facilities Hit After France Offers Defensive Support

Saudi Energy Facilities Hit After France Offers Defensive Support

Saudi Arabia says missiles and drones targeted important energy sites.

Some missiles were reportedly stopped near Taif and Yanbu.

Smoke was also reported near energy facilities in Riyadh.

The attacks happened shortly after France offered to help protect Saudi oil infrastructure.

France said its role would be defensive and would not include direct combat against Houthi forces.

One important target area is connected to the East-West Pipeline, which carries oil across Saudi Arabia to the Red Sea.

At the same time, the United States and Iran are in a serious dispute over military activity, sanctions, and shipping routes.

Iran said it could allow ships through the Strait of Hormuz if several conditions were met.
