BMS to protest in Nagpur over workers' demands
A group called the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, which helps workers, is planning a big protest in a city called Nagpur.
They are upset because they want the government to help workers more.
They want workers who do simple jobs to be paid at least Rs 30,000 every month.
They also want bigger pensions for retired people and more money saved for workers' future.
They want bank workers to have a five-day work week.
They want older people to get cheaper train tickets again, like they used to.
They also want some closed factories to reopen or workers to be paid fairly.
Many different workers, like those in banks, factories, and public services, will join the protest.
The protest will start at 3 pm at a place called Samvidhan Square.
They hope the government will listen and solve these problems.
The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) will stage a protest in Nagpur on August 17 as part of nationwide demonstrations over workers' issues.
Key demands include a minimum monthly wage of Rs 30,000 for unskilled workers, higher pensions, and increased EPF and ESI ceilings.
The protest will begin at 3 pm at Samvidhan Square, according to BMS publicity chief Suresh Choudhary.
Workers from industries, banks, Metro services, public sector undertakings, and organised and unorganised sectors are expected to participate.
Other demands include equal pay for equal work, a five-day work week for bank employees, and restoration of the 50% railway fare concession for senior citizens.

Minimum wage and benefits
Workers' Rights Advocates
Workers need a minimum monthly wage of Rs 30,000, higher pensions, and increased EPF and ESI ceilings to ensure fair living standards.
Government/Employers
The government and employers may argue that such increases are costly and need to be balanced with economic constraints.
Railway fare concession
Workers' Rights Advocates
The 50% railway fare concession for senior citizens should be restored as it was unfairly discontinued during COVID-19.
Government/Employers
The concession may have been removed due to financial pressures during the pandemic and may not be reinstated easily.
