ICC Allows Pink Ball in Daytime Tests, Changes End-of-Day Rule
The International Cricket Council changed some cricket rules.
One change allows a pink ball to be used in daytime Test matches.
Another change affects the final over of the day.
If a batter is dismissed during that over, play will not automatically stop.
The rest of the over can continue if the weather and conditions are good.
Previously, the unfinished balls would be played the next day.
The ICC said stopping early does not save time.
It also said the new rule rewards the fielding team and keeps the game exciting.
The International Cricket Council announced several changes to cricket regulations.
A pink ball will be allowed in daytime Test matches.
Play will no longer automatically end when a wicket falls during an incomplete final over of the day.
The remaining deliveries must be played the next day if weather and conditions are unsuitable.
The ICC said the change rewards the fielding team and preserves late-match drama.
