Gram Panchayat Elections Conclude with Mixed Incidents
In some parts of Telangana, people voted for their local leaders in the third part of the village elections.
Most places were peaceful, and many people voted.
But in a few villages, there were fights between supporters of different political parties after the voting.
The police had to use force, like firing in the air and using sticks, to control the crowds.
Some people said the voting was not fair, but others said it was.
The police made sure everything was calm in the end.
The third phase of Gram Panchayat elections in Mahabubnagar concluded with an 88.36% voter turnout.
Clashes erupted in Paidipalli, Panthangi, and Dandumalkapuram villages between supporters of different parties.
Police fired in the air and used lathi-charge to control the violent situations.
BJP candidate Mamatha demanded a recount alleging irregularities in the counting process.
Police restored order and deployed additional forces to prevent further incidents.
