SC Rejects MP's Bail in Andhra Pradesh Liquor Scam
The Supreme Court has said no to a politician, Mr. Reddy, who wanted to avoid being arrested in a big alcohol sales case.
The court said it was too early to let him off the hook because the police are still figuring things out.
The government said some people changed the rules to help certain groups with alcohol sales.
Another court also wants to arrest Mr. Reddy.
Supreme Court dismissed anticipatory bail plea of YSR Congress MP PV Midhun Reddy.
The court cited the critical stage of investigations in the multi-crore AP liquor scam.
The Andhra Pradesh government argued the accused conspired to limit competition in liquor distribution.
The court previously denied anticipatory bail to co-accused in the same case.
The state CID's special investigation team filed for an arrest warrant.
