Infosys Receives Closure Notice from DGGI Regarding GST Demand
Imagine a big company called Infosys.
The government had asked them for a lot of money, about 32,403 crore rupees, because they thought Infosys hadn't paid the right taxes.
This was for taxes between 2018 and 2022.
But, on Friday, June 6, 2025, the government sent Infosys a letter saying they don't need to pay that money after all!
It's like the government checked everything and decided Infosys was in the clear.
Infosys shares went up a little bit in price on that day.
The shares had lost some value this year but have improved in the last month.
Infosys received a GST demand closure notice from the Director General of GST Intelligence (DGGI).
The notice closes the pre-show cause notice proceedings for financial years 2018-19 to 2021-22.
The DGGI had previously issued a ₹32,403 crore GST demand notice.
The closure communication was received on Friday, June 6, 2025.
