Noida Burns Rs 127 Crore in Stamps for Digital Shift
Imagine paper money, but for official documents.
Now, imagine the government is switching to digital versions of those paper stamps.
To make the switch, the government in Noida destroyed a huge amount of old, unused paper stamps.
These stamps were worth a lot of money – about 127 crore rupees!
The stamps were in denominations of 10,000 to 25,000 rupees.
The government had ordered that these old paper stamps were not valid anymore and to be destroyed.
So, under supervision, they were burned, making way for digital ones.
