India’s 7.8% GDP Growth Spurs Swadeshi Push

India’s economy grew faster than expected in the first three months of the 2026-27 financial year.

It grew by 7.8 percent compared with the same period a year earlier.

Factories and several service businesses expanded strongly.

People spending money and businesses investing also helped the economy.

Gujarat’s leaders said the growth showed India was strong despite problems around the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the result.

He asked people to buy more Indian goods and services.

He also suggested avoiding unnecessary foreign travel and overseas weddings.

He said these choices could help make India more self-reliant.
