Telangana Introduces 20% Internal Marks for First-Year Intermediate

Telangana Introduces 20% Internal Marks for First-Year Intermediate

Starting in the 2026-27 school year, first-year Intermediate students in Telangana will be assessed in two ways.

Twenty percent of their marks will come from work done during the year.

The remaining 80 percent will come from theory examinations, where this system applies.

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education has changed the textbooks for these students.

It has also given colleges rules for conducting and recording internal assessments.

These rules are meant to make the process similar in all colleges.

The Board says the new approach will encourage students to understand ideas, solve problems and keep learning.

It also hopes the changes will build creativity, skills and good character.
