Maharashtra Becomes Kerala’s Third-Largest Domestic Tourism Market

Maharashtra Becomes Kerala’s Third-Largest Domestic Tourism Market

Many people from Maharashtra visited Kerala in 2025.

They made 771,264 visits, more than visitors from any state except Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Kerala wants more people from cities such as Mumbai and Pune to come.

It is promoting wellness, nature, backwaters and holidays that last longer.

Kerala also welcomed many more domestic visitors than it did in 2019.

However, visits by people from other countries have not yet returned to their 2019 level.

The state hopes to bring visitors to less famous places, especially in northern Kerala and Malabar.

Munnar and Kochi were the most visited destinations named in the report.
