India Cuts Customs Duties on Sunflower, Soybean and Palm Oils

India changed the taxes charged on some imported cooking oils.

The oils include sunflower, soybean and palm oil.

The tax on crude sunflower oil was removed completely.

The tax on refined sunflower oil was also lowered.

Taxes on crude soybean and palm oils were cut to 5 percent.

Taxes on their refined versions were reduced to 27.5 percent.

These changes begin on September 24, 2026.

The finance ministry said the cuts could help make the oils cheaper in India.
