President Murmu talked about how important the handicraft sector is for India, saying it helps a lot of people, especially in rural areas, by giving them jobs and income.
She also mentioned that women make up most of the workers in this sector, which helps with women's empowerment.
The President encouraged everyone to get a special tag called a GI tag for their products to make them more famous around the world.
Governor Nazeer congratulated D. Sivamma for winning the prestigious ‘Shilp Guru’ Award for her exceptional leather puppet art.
