Over 30 Tiger Attack Deaths in Sunderban Reserve

Over the last five years, more than 30 people have died from tiger attacks in the Sundarban Tiger Reserve.

The areas where these attacks happened include Sajnekhali Wildlife Sanctuary, Basirhat Range, National Park East, National Park West, and Sundarbaner Jongole.

The information was shared by the Union Minister of State for Environment, Kirti Vardhan Singh, in response to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

During this period, 132 ex gratia claims were filed, but only 22 were approved.

Conservationists and local residents have different views on how to manage the tiger population to prevent such attacks.
