Kerala HC Allows Repair Work on Sabarimala Gold Plating
The Kerala High Court said that the repair of the gold plating on the idols at Sabarimala temple could continue.
The court had previously stopped the work, but now allows it, as long as the legal rules are followed.
The court was concerned that the gold was taken off without telling the Special Commissioner, and there wasn't a record of how much gold there was.
The court is letting Smart Creations, a company, finish the job, and then the items must be returned to the temple.
The TDB wanted to finish the repairs, saying some pieces could be safely returned, and others needed a protective coating before transport.
The court wants all records about the gold plating to be kept safe.
The Kerala High Court permitted the continuation of repair works on the gold plating of Dwarapalaka idols.
Smart Creations, a Chennai-based company, is allowed to continue the repairs.
The court strongly deprecated the removal of gold plating without notifying the Special Commissioner.
The TDB sought permission to complete repairs.
The court ordered all records related to the gold-plating to be seized.
