Andhra Pradesh Plans Unified 112 Emergency Response System

Andhra Pradesh Plans Unified 112 Emergency Response System

Andhra Pradesh plans to connect its 112 emergency number to police, ambulance and fire services.

This means one emergency call could bring help from several departments.

The fire services department is also getting new vehicles and equipment.

Some vehicles can operate in narrow places where larger trucks cannot go.

Officials said quicker responses and better equipment helped prevent more than half of the fire-related human losses compared with previous years.

New fire stations are being built in different parts of the state.

Private fire teams at industrial sites may also help during emergencies.

The overall goal is to save more lives when emergencies happen.
