Maharashtra Government Approves Tribal Commission
Imagine a new group of people in charge of helping the Scheduled Tribes in Maharashtra.
The government decided to create this new group, called a commission, just for them.
This is like the federal government which has separate groups for different communities.
This new commission will work on its own, independent of others.
They're also planning to give this group a special status, making it more official.
They'll even hire 26 new people to help run it, and the government will give them money for offices and salaries.
The main goal is to focus on the unique needs of the Scheduled Tribes and ensure they get the support they need.
Maharashtra government approved a separate commission for Scheduled Tribes.
The decision was made in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The commission will function independently.
The cabinet approved Constitutional status for the new body.
Twenty-six new posts will be created for the ST Commission.
