Girl Walks Again After Spinal Surgery
A 9-year-old girl named Tejaswani from Anakapalli district had a big problem with her spine.
She couldn't hold her head up, and her spine was bent in a dangerous way because of tuberculosis.
Doctors at King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam did a special surgery to fix her spine.
They worked together as a team, and the surgery was free because of a government health program.
After the surgery, Tejaswani could walk again and didn't have any more pain.
The doctors said if they hadn't done the surgery in time, she might not have been able to walk at all.
A 9-year-old girl from Anakapalli district underwent successful spinal surgery at King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam.
She suffered from tuberculosis-induced spinal deformity (CDJ kyphosis) causing a 60-degree curvature in her spine.
The surgery, led by Dr Y.M. Premjit Ray, involved a multidisciplinary team from various departments.
The operation, valued at Rs 4 lakh, was provided free of charge under the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme.
Post-surgery, Tejaswani has regained her ability to walk normally with no pain.
