NSE's equity options market share declines 22% from FY24 to FY26
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) in India has seen a significant drop in its market share for equity options over the past three years.
In FY24, NSE had a 96.9% share, but this fell to 74.71% by FY26, a decrease of over 22%.
This decline shows that other exchanges are becoming more competitive in the derivatives market.
However, NSE still holds a strong position in other areas like equity cash and futures.
Additionally, NSE's total revenue and transaction charges have also decreased, which might be a concern as the exchange prepares for its initial public offering (IPO).
NSE's equity options market share declined from 96.9% in FY24 to 74.71% in FY26.
NSE maintains dominance in equity cash and futures segments.
Total revenue from operations declined by over 3% from FY25 to FY26.
Transaction charges, the largest revenue source, fell by about 4% year-on-year.
Revenue from clearing and settlement services dropped by 21.8% year-on-year in FY26.
