Jaishankar Warns Terror Concerns Could Strain India-US Ties

India’s foreign minister, S Jaishankar, spoke about India’s relationship with the United States.

He said terrorism coming across India’s border from a neighboring country is a very serious concern for India.

He suggested that this means Pakistan.

Jaishankar said India can feel less close to a partner if that partner does not understand this concern.

His comments came as the United States has been building closer ties with Pakistan.

India and the United States are also negotiating a trade agreement.

Jaishankar said the talks are difficult because the two countries have different economies and because US tariff rules have changed.

He said finishing the agreement could help make the relationship better.

He added that both countries should work through their disagreements and move the partnership forward.
