Konkani Language Celebrated on National Recognition Day

Konkani, a language spoken by a smaller group of people, was celebrated for being recognized by the country.

This recognition happened because Konkani speakers have contributed to many different parts of the nation.

The celebration, called Konkani National Recognition Day, took place at the World Konkani Centre.

People at the event included important speakers, like academics and judges.

They talked about the language and its importance.

There was also a tribute to a late linguist and scholarships were given to students who study Konkani.

A young dancer was also honored at the event.
