Indian Fuel Prices Rise Above ₹100 in Major Cities
On July 30, the price of petrol in Delhi was a little over ₹100 per litre, and diesel was about ₹95.
Diesel and petrol prices were even higher in Mumbai, with petrol over ₹110 and diesel close to ₹100.
In other big cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, petrol was also above ₹110, but diesel was usually below ₹100, except in Hyderabad where it was a bit over ₹100.
These prices are affected by how much crude oil costs worldwide, how strong the Indian rupee is against the dollar, taxes from the government, how much it costs to move fuel around, and how much people want or need fuel.
Because of all these factors, the price you see at the pump can be different in each city.
Petrol in Delhi priced at ₹102.12 per litre, diesel at ₹95.20.
Mumbai petrol at ₹111.21 and diesel at ₹99.82.
Petrol above ₹110 in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata; diesel below ₹100 except Hyderabad’s ₹103.82.
Prices driven by global crude oil costs, rupee‑dollar exchange, taxes, transport, and demand‑supply.
State taxes and local conditions cause price differences across cities.
