Bengal Guv alleges denial of floral tribute at NSS founder’s samadhi
West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose said he was not allowed to put flowers at the memorial of Mannathu Padmanabhan, the founder of the Nair Service Society (NSS) in Kerala.
He visited the memorial in 2022 before becoming governor.
The NSS leader, G. Sukumaran Nair, said this did not happen.
The governor wants to build a memorial for Mannathu Padmanabhan in New Delhi and will give one month's salary for it.
Some people support the governor, while others support the NSS leader.
This is a big argument between an important government official and a powerful community group in Kerala.
West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose alleged he was denied the opportunity to offer floral tributes at the samadhi of NSS founder Mannathu Padmanabhan in 2022.
Bose claimed he was not allowed to offer tributes despite seeking an appointment with the NSS general secretary.
NSS General Secretary G. Sukumaran Nair denied the allegations, stating no such incident occurred.
Former NSS education secretary M.R. Unni supported Bose's claims, alleging that Nair did not permit the tributes.
Bose proposed building a memorial for Mannathu Padmanabhan in New Delhi and pledged one month's salary for the project.
