Goa CM: Freedom Fighters' Lives Could Have Been Saved
Goa's Chief Minister, Mr. Sawant, spoke about how things could have been different for Goa.
He said that if Goa had become independent at the same time as India, many people who fought for freedom might have lived longer.
He was speaking on Goa Revolution Day, which marks a big day of protest in 1946.
He also mentioned that the government makes laws, but it's everyone's job to follow them and help keep the state clean and green.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that lives of freedom fighters could have been saved if Goa was liberated in 1947.
Sawant made the statement on Goa Revolution Day, June 18th.
Goa was liberated 14 years after India gained independence.
The CM suggested Goa's development would have been earlier had it been liberated sooner.
