Italy Unveils Michelangelo Dome Air Defence System

Italy has introduced a new advanced defence system called the Michelangelo Dome.

This system is designed to protect important places and infrastructure from various threats like rockets, missiles, drones, and cyberattacks.

It uses artificial intelligence to connect different defence platforms in space, air, land, and sea to detect and stop these threats.

The system is expected to be partially operational by 2028 and fully operational by 2030.

Leonardo, the company behind the system, is working with the Italian armed forces and other European countries to make sure it meets defence needs.

The goal is to create a highly advanced defence system that can work with different technologies from various nations.

Other countries like the US, Turkey, and Taiwan are also developing similar systems.
