Water Contamination Concerns in Madhya Pradesh
In Madhya Pradesh, two places are having problems with dirty water.
In Indore, many people got sick with diarrhoea because of contaminated water.
The government is helping by giving out medicine and setting up health camps.
They are also telling people to boil their water to make it safe.
In Panna, at a place called Ajaygarh Fort, people are using pond water for drinking and cooking, which is not safe.
The government is asking people to bring their own water or use bottled water, but some people are still using the pond water.
This could make them sick too.
The government is trying to prevent another health problem like the one in Indore.
The Health Department has intensified relief and preventive measures in Bhagirathpura due to water contamination.
Medical kits containing ORS and zinc tablets have been distributed to 789 households, totaling 8,786 kits so far.
15 new diarrhoea cases were reported, with two patients referred to higher medical facilities.
Two emergency health camps and a 24×7 roster of doctors have been set up for prompt medical care.
Residents are advised to boil drinking water for 20 minutes or use pressure cookers to make it safe.
Panna Collector appealed to locals to avoid using pond/river water for drinking and cooking at the Makar Sankranti fair due to contamination concerns.
