Ramesh Seeks Funds for 13 JNVs and Two AIIMS
Lingamaneni Ramesh asked the central government for money to build more schools and hospitals in Andhra Pradesh.
The state has 28 districts but only 15 working Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
That means 13 districts do not have one of these residential schools.
Ramesh said the schools help talented children, especially those from rural and poorer families.
He estimated that the 13 new schools would cost about Rs 1,096 crore over five years.
He also asked for two more AIIMS hospitals.
One would be in Uttarandhra and the other in Rayalaseema.
Ramesh said the state needs more advanced healthcare because of its size, population, tribal areas and different medical needs.
Jana Sena Party Rajya Sabha member Lingamaneni Ramesh asked for funding for 13 new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Andhra Pradesh.
The proposed schools would serve the 13 of Andhra Pradesh’s 28 districts that currently lack a sanctioned and functional JNV.
Ramesh estimated the 13 schools would cost about Rs 1,096 crore over five years.
He also requested two additional All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, one in Uttarandhra and one in Rayalaseema.
Ramesh said Andhra Pradesh’s geography, population, tribal regions and healthcare needs justified expanding advanced medical facilities beyond AIIMS Mangalagiri.
