Winter Storm Kills Dozens, Leaves Millions in Cold
A very strong winter storm hit the central and eastern parts of the U.S., causing a lot of problems.
It started on Friday and brought lots of snow and ice, which made roads very slippery and caused many flights to be canceled.
The storm also knocked out power in more than 550,000 homes and businesses.
Sadly, at least 45 people died because of the extreme cold.
In New York City, 10 people were found dead outside, and the mayor said it was too early to know if they were homeless.
The city has been trying to help homeless people stay safe by putting them in shelters.
In Nashville, Tennessee, all the homeless shelters are full, and a charity that usually helps about 400 people a night is now helping about 7,000.
The cold is expected to stick around, and almost 200 million Americans are under some kind of winter warning.
Another storm might hit this weekend.
Health officials are warning people not to use gas stoves to heat their homes because it can be dangerous.
At least 45 people have died across 14 states due to a powerful winter storm.
The storm caused widespread power outages, affecting more than 550,000 homes and businesses.
New York City reported 10 deaths, with the mayor emphasizing the focus on keeping people safe rather than conducting a homeless count.
Nashville's homeless shelters are at full capacity, with emergency workers checking on those still on the streets.
The storm has led to various causes of death, including hypothermia, exposure, and cardiac incidents while clearing snow.
