Andhra Pradesh Targets Renewable Energy Leadership With Suzlon Projects

Andhra Pradesh Targets Renewable Energy Leadership With Suzlon Projects

Andhra Pradesh wants to become a leading state for renewable energy.

Renewable energy comes from sources such as wind and sunlight.

The state has started new Suzlon wind-power projects at Huliker.

These projects could add 1,325 megawatts of clean electricity.

They are expected to bring about ₹10,000 crore in investment.

They may also create more than 4,000 jobs.

The government and Suzlon plan to train 12,000 young people for green-energy work.

One-fourth of the training places will be reserved for women.

The state also hopes to use clean power for data centres and to make fuels such as green hydrogen and green ammonia.
