BJP Leader Alleges Massive Fake Birth Certificate Scam
A senior leader from the BJP party, Kirit Somaiya, said that over 1 lakh fake birth certificates were made in just two months.
He thinks this was done by hacking the government's system and that it might be used to help people who are not supposed to be in India get official papers.
The police have caught eight people involved in this scam.
Somaiya also said that many Bangladeshi people are working as street vendors in Mumbai without permission.
He blamed some political leaders for not stopping this because they want these people's votes.
He promised that his party will take strong action against this in the future.
Over 1 lakh fake birth certificates were allegedly issued through the Central Registration System (CRS) portal in November and December 2025.
The scam was reportedly executed by hacking into the CRS portal and manipulating official records in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
Eight individuals have been arrested, with Avadhesh Kumar Dubey identified as the prime accused.
The fake certificates are suspected to be used to legitimize infiltrators by granting them Indian identity documents.
Kirit Somaiya linked the scam to illegal immigration, claiming thousands of Bangladeshi nationals are operating as hawkers in Mumbai without legal authorization.
