Rail Projects Add Capacity Across Vadodara-Ratlam and Vishwamitri-Dabhoi
Indian Railways plans to add two tracks between Vadodara and Ratlam.
This would make that route have a third and fourth line.
The project covers nearly 259 kilometers.
The route carries both passenger and freight trains.
More tracks could help more trains run and reduce delays caused by crowded tracks.
A separate 33-kilometer line between Vishwamitri and Dabhoi will also be doubled.
That project is estimated to cost Rs 394 crore.
The extra track could make it easier for trains to pass each other.
It may also improve rail travel toward the Statue of Unity.
Western Railway plans third and fourth lines across nearly 259 km between Vadodara and Ratlam.
The Vadodara-Ratlam expansion is intended to support more passenger and freight trains on the Delhi-Mumbai route.
The 33-km Vishwamitri-Dabhoi section will be doubled at an estimated cost of Rs 394 crore.
The projects are expected to reduce congestion and improve operational flexibility and train movement.
The Vishwamitri-Dabhoi route also supports rail connectivity toward Gujarat’s Statue of Unity tourist destination.
