Walmart to Roll Out Apple Pay Across U.S. Stores
Walmart is changing how customers can pay in its stores.
Starting August 24, some stores will let people tap phones or cards to pay.
Apple Pay will be one of the available options.
Walmart plans to offer these payment methods at every U.S. store by the end of the year.
The options will come to Walmart-operated gas stations by the middle of next year.
Before this change, customers mainly had to use Walmart’s own Walmart Pay app for contactless checkout.
Walmart says tapping could make checkout faster and easier.
The announcement came after Walmart reported weaker-than-expected results.
The company also said communications chief Allyson Park will leave early next year.
