Private Credit Lenders Takeover of Telecoms Supplier Netceed
Imagine a company called Netceed that provides services for phone and internet companies.
Netceed was having money troubles because the companies they worked with were also struggling.
Lenders who had given Netceed money decided to become part owners instead, in a deal called a debt-for-equity swap.
This means the lenders are forgiving some of Netceed's debt in exchange for a piece of the company.
As part of this deal, Netceed will also get €70 million in cash.
This helps Netceed continue operating.
These types of deals are becoming more common recently because many companies are having financial difficulties due to rising interest rates.
Lenders including Pemberton, Blue Owl, and Hayfin are taking over Netceed.
The takeover involves a debt-for-equity swap.
Netceed will receive €70 million in liquidity.
This is one of the largest debt-for-equity swaps for European private credit lenders.
Netceed's debt includes over $1 billion in term loans.
