UP Governor's Residence Renamed Jan Bhavan

The official home of the Uttar Pradesh governor has a new name.

It used to be called Raj Bhavan, but now it's called Jan Bhavan.

This change was made because the central government in India said all governors' homes should have similar names.

The governor's office in Lucknow announced this change on January 21.

The idea is to make things more uniform and official across the country.

However, Uttar Pradesh chose 'Jan Bhavan' instead of 'Lok Bhavan' because there's already a building called 'Lok Bhavan' in the state.
