Controversy over demolition order for Mohammad Ali Jauhar University
There is a big argument about a university in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
The authorities want to demolish 38 of its 40 buildings because they say they were built without permission.
The university was founded by Azam Khan, a senior leader of the Samajwadi Party, almost 20 years ago.
Mohammad Deepak, a man who became famous for standing up for a Muslim shopkeeper, is asking people to save the university.
If the buildings are demolished, the university will have to close down.
The Rampur Development Authority issued a demolition notice for 38 buildings at Mohammad Ali Jauhar University.
The university was founded by Azam Khan and is spread over 250 acres.
The notice was served on July 15 with a deadline of August 5.
Only the medical college building and academic block will remain if the demolition proceeds.
Mohammad Deepak has appealed for the university to be saved.
