Asam Sahitya Sabha Launches Digital, Historical Initiatives

The Asam Sahitya Sabha, a big group that works to keep Assamese language and culture alive, had a special event to celebrate 100 years of their important building, Chandrakanta Handique Bhawan.

During this event, they announced some exciting new plans.

First, they will write a new, more complete history of Assam and the Assamese people because they think past historians didn't do a good job with this part of India.

Second, they will collect poems, stories, and other writing that people share online and publish them in real books.

This is to recognize that many creative people are using the internet to share their work.

They also plan to make a special dictionary available on social media that will help people spell words correctly.

The Sabha's important magazine, Asam Sahitya Sabha Patrika, will be 100 years old in 2026, so they are planning special programs to celebrate that too, especially focusing on young writers.

Many important writers and scholars were at the event to celebrate this big moment in Assam's literary history.
