Delhi Police Proposes Metro Curbs Ahead of CJP Protest

A youth group called CJP plans to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10.

The protest is about claims of vote theft.

Police asked the Delhi Metro to restrict entry and exit at 57 stations starting Friday night, but the reports say the request was not confirmation that the Metro had agreed.

Police also asked for fewer trains at those stations.

Some trains due at two Delhi railway stations on Saturday were cancelled.

Police have added security and are putting up more cameras.

They say these steps are meant to manage crowds and keep people away from sensitive areas.

Protest activist Abhijeet Dipke said activists had been detained, but that was his allegation.
