Meghalaya Launches Scientific Coal Mining with First Trucks
Meghalaya is starting to mine coal in a new, safer way.
They sent off the first trucks loaded with coal.
This happened after a ban on old mining methods was lifted.
The old way was dangerous.
Now, the government hopes this new way of mining will help the economy and stop illegal coal trading.
This also means that the region's economy will grow as a result of coal trade with valid documentation.
