Madhya Pradesh Faces Four-Day Heavy Rain, Orange Alerts Issued
The monsoon is back in Madhya Pradesh, a state in central India.
The India Meteorological Department says it will rain a lot for the next four days, especially in places like Dhar and Dewas.
They have put an orange alert, which means very heavy rain is expected.
Some areas might get more than 4 inches of rain in one day.
The rain is already starting in the capital city, Bhopal, and thunderstorms are expected in other cities like Indore and Gwalior.
Even though the state has had less rain than usual so far, the heavy rain coming next may help catch up.
The weather systems that cause this rain will stay active until early August.
IMD issued orange alerts for very heavy rainfall in Dhar, Dewas, Burhanpur, Harda, and Narmadapuram.
Heavy to very heavy rain is expected across 17 districts for the next four days, with some areas likely to receive over 4 inches in 24 hours.
Monsoon systems (trough, cyclonic circulation, shear zone) are active until August 2, driving continuous rainfall.
Madhya Pradesh has received 16% below normal rainfall so far this season, but the upcoming heavy rains may reduce the deficit.
Rainfall has already started in Bhopal; thunderstorms are expected in Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna, and other parts of the state.
