Maharashtra Exempts 1,400+ Professors from NET Exams
Imagine that teachers in college need to pass a test called NET to keep their jobs and move up in their careers.
Over 1,400 teachers in Maharashtra who already have a special degree called M.Phil don't have to take the NET test anymore.
This is because the government made a new rule in 2022.
These teachers were hired a long time ago, between 1994 and 2009, and they can now get promoted more easily.
It's like getting a special pass that helps them with their jobs.
Over 1,400 M.Phil degree-holding professors in Maharashtra exempted from NET.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) extended the NET relaxation in 2022.
The state higher and technical education department issued a government resolution.
The exemption applies to professors appointed between 1994 and 2009.
