Nagpur IITMS: Smart Signals Delayed, New Deadline Set for June 15
The city of Nagpur is installing a new smart traffic system to make it easier to get around.
It was supposed to be done earlier, but there were delays.
Now, they're working to finish setting up smart signals at 10 busy intersections by June 15.
The new system will use smart signals that change with traffic, cameras to catch people breaking rules, and signs that give live traffic updates.
It aims to reduce traffic time and make roads safer.
The whole project will be done by the end of 2026.
The pilot phase of Nagpur's IITMS has missed previous deadlines.
Smart signals are to be installed at 10 junctions by June 15.
The NMC has issued a stern warning to the private contractor regarding the new deadline.
