Ousted Nepal PM's Party Holds Rally
A big rally was held in Nepal for the party of the former prime minister, KP Sharma Oli.
This was the largest gathering since the youth-led anti-corruption protests that happened a few months ago.
The protests caused a lot of damage and even led to the prime minister's office and other important buildings being set on fire.
Oli is trying to become the leader of his party again and says the current government did something wrong by ending the parliament.
He also says his party is not against the young people who protested.
Many people came to support him, showing that he still has a lot of followers.
The party will choose its new leader soon, and the winner will lead the party in the next elections next year.
Tens of thousands attended the largest rally in Nepal since the anti-graft protests that ousted PM KP Sharma Oli.
Oli claims the dissolution of parliament by the interim government is unconstitutional and has filed a petition for its restoration.
The rally was held to launch a three-day convention of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) and support Oli's re-election as party president.
Oli denies being anti-Gen Z, stating that his party is being misrepresented by protesters.
The winner of the UML presidential vote will lead the party in the new parliamentary elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.
