Google's Project Suncatcher: Developing Space-Based AI Data Centers

Google is exploring a project called Suncatcher to build computer centers for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in space.

These centers would be on satellites that use sunlight for power.

This is because AI needs a lot of energy, and regular computer centers on Earth use too much.

Satellites in space can get sunlight almost all the time and could be much more efficient.

However, making this work is tricky.

The satellites need to stay very close to each other, like a team, and talk to each other really fast.

They also need special computer parts that can survive the harshness of space, like radiation.

Google plans to send up two test satellites soon to see if this idea is possible.

This could be a cleaner and more efficient way to power AI in the future.
