Delhi Lawyers Protest, Demand BCI Chief’s Resignation Over NALSAR Row

Some lawyers held a peaceful protest in Delhi.

They were protesting against the Bar Council of India, which oversees the legal profession.

The lawyers demanded that its chairman, Manan Kumar Mishra, resign.

They referred to alleged irregularities and a disagreement involving NALSAR.

The protest was called by the All India Young Advocates Association.

One lawyer said the movement was by advocates against their own apex body.

Another lawyer questioned what the council had done for students and lawyers.

Protesters also mentioned attacks and deaths involving lawyers.

The articles do not provide a response from the Bar Council of India or Manan Kumar Mishra.
