Bhopal Court to Settle UCC Officials' Plea
Three officials from Union Carbide, who were found guilty in a case related to the Bhopal tragedy, asked the court for a new trial.
They said the charges against them were wrong and the investigation was not done properly.
The court said it will decide on their request at the same time as their appeal.
This means the court will look at everything together when it finally hears the case.
The officials are Kishore Kamdar, J. Mukund, and S.P. Choudhary.
They were vice president, works manager, and production manager at Union Carbide.
The court's decision will come after the final hearing of their appeal.
Three Union Carbide officials filed a plea for a new trial under Section 464 CrPC.
They claimed the charges against them were wrong and the CBI's investigation was flawed.
The court stated the plea will be decided simultaneously with their pending appeal.
The application cannot be disposed of during the pendency of the appeal.
All criminal appeals arising from the original judgment are fixed for final arguments.
