AP Enquiries Body Defunct Stalls Disciplinary Actions
The Andhra Pradesh Government Employees Association is worried because a special group that checks if government officers are doing their jobs properly isn't working.
This group, called the Commissionerate of Enquiries, has been inactive for a year and a half because the people who were supposed to work there quit.
Now, nearly 200 officers' disciplinary cases are stuck.
The association met with the Chief Secretary a few months ago, but nothing has been done yet.
They want the Chief Minister and other important people to fix this problem quickly.
The Andhra Pradesh Government Employees Association has raised concerns about the defunct Commissionerate of Enquiries.
The body, responsible for departmental inquiries against gazetted and All India Service officers, has been inactive for 18 months.
Nearly 200 officers' disciplinary proceedings have been stalled due to the lack of a functional commission.
Inquiries are either pending or being conducted within the same departments, raising concerns about transparency.
The association met with the Chief Secretary on August 19, 2025, but no appointments have been made.
