Centre Awaits DPR for Rishikesh Metro Extension
The central government in India said that it hasn't received any detailed plan from the Uttarakhand state government for extending a metro rail project to the city of Rishikesh.
A minister in the central government told the Rajya Sabha (one of India's parliament houses) that no such plan has been submitted.
This information was given in response to a question asked by a member of parliament, Dr. Kalpana Saini.
She wanted to know if there was any plan to extend the metro rail to Rishikesh and when the construction might start.
The minister said that without the detailed plan, the central government cannot proceed with the project.
Centre has not received a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for metro extension to Rishikesh.
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs informed Parliament about the status.
Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Kalpana Saini raised the question about the metro extension proposal.
No information is available about the proposed start date for construction.
