ITV Profits Drop 30% in H1 2025, Despite Strong Advertising
Imagine ITV is like a company that makes TV shows.
This year, their profits went down by 30%, but they were still doing pretty well.
This is because they made a lot of money last year from the men's soccer tournament.
The part of ITV that makes the shows also made less money, but the shows they sell to other companies in the U.S. are doing better.
They are also cutting costs and say things will get better next year.
ITV's profits decreased by 30% in the first half of 2025.
The drop was attributed to strong advertising sales in the first half of 2024, boosted by the Men's Euros.
ITV Studios production division saw a 20% profit decrease, while the media and entertainment division profits fell by almost half.
Overall turnover was down 3% to £1.8B, though the performance was ahead of market expectations.
The company announced additional cost savings and revised content spend for the year.
