Mumbai Metro Line 9 Phase 2 Integration Trials Begin
Mumbai Metro is testing a new part of Line 9.
The new section has three additional stations.
Workers must connect it safely to Metro Lines 2A, 7 and Line 9 Phase 1.
They are testing the signalling system, which helps trains move safely.
These tests are taking place before the new section can open to passengers.
Testing began on September 15, 2026, and is planned through September 25.
Because the work happens in the morning, some Metro services will start later than usual.
Lines 2A, 7 and Line 9 Phase 1 will start carrying passengers at 6:30 a.m.
during this period.
Signalling and integration trials for Metro Line 9 Phase 2 began on September 15, 2026.
The trials are connecting three additional stations to the operational Metro network.
A special morning non-revenue block will run from September 15 through September 25.
Lines 2A, 7 and Line 9 Phase 1 will begin passenger services at 6:30 a.m. during the block.
Testing includes signalling software migration, validation and speed trials through the Operations Control Centre at Charkop Depot.
